PUMI

Pumi are a dog bred in Hungary. The pumi seem have arisen as a junction between Hungarian herdershonden and terriers.

At those terriers it is frequently thought of French dogs which brought merinoschapen in the 18th century to Hungary.

In the twenties of the 20th century the tribe book was opened, in 1936, the pumi were recognised internationally.

As from the sixties the race had be however again built. The tribe book is open still.
