These dogs are known to be fierce and protective and are good watch dogs. They have a strong guarding instinct due to their nature of work. When trained properly at an early age these dogs can be very good companions and are very sociable. These dogs are not recommended for owners who are either timid or new at taking care of dogs. The owner should be experienced with dog behaviors before going in for a dog of this size and strength. They have a high temperament and or are not very patient with children thus it is advised not to have this dog if there are children in the family. It is best if these dogs are trained properly when they are puppies. They are starting to get worldwide recognition because of their size and guarding abilities. This dog has been in India since the British. Despite being very healthy these dogs also face a few health problems as they grow older. They can be prone to arthritis and blindness. With a correct diet and plenty exercise the dog can grow old in good health. The dogs are accustomed to the Indian heat and thus are not subjected to skin diseases such as sunburn. They do not require much maintenance because of their short coat, once a day brushing of the coat will be sufficient to keep the dirt away.

These dogs are mainly bred for guarding purposes but, often, have been used in the past by criminal gangs for fighting purposes. This is illegal in Pakistan. Breeders of good reputation are careful choosing who they sell one of their puppies to. These dogs have been abused before in fighting, and reputable breeders will not want one of their puppies placed in that situation. Dog fighting is part of Pakistan culture. But Islam forbids it and that's why now it is banned, And people who are involved in Dog fighting are villagers, they don't have knowledge about Islam and Rules and our Police can not stop it in every where.
