Ears are short and drop and the tail is held distinctively low. It has a dark coloured mask on its mouth. Males grow to a height of 57 to 63 cms and females grow to about 54 to 60 cms. They weigh in at around 30 to 40 kgs with the females considerably lower at 25 to 35 kgs. They are heavy set dogs and are usually clumsy around the household.
