RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK
The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a muscular dog, of great bearing, extremely agile and quick (km/h can reach 65) mainly used for the hunting, guard and company. It belongs to group 6.
The history of the race has its beginning in century XVI, when Colonising European found a dog domesticated (Khoikhoi) next to African tribes (hotentotes). That animal had, like basic characteristics, a strip of hairs made bristle in the back (origin of the name “ridgeback”, that means dorsal crest).

The new race, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, conserves muuchas of the characteristics of the dog of the African tribes. One began, thus, the creation in great scale in Rhodesia, (at the moment Zimbawe), receiving the name of that country.
