PHYSICAL TRAITS of the BASSET HOUND
As every basset, name that comes from bas (short in French), its most evident trait is, precisely, its short height in relation to its body bulk. They stand at approximately 34 to 38 cm, in males as in females. It has a slightly bulky skull, undefined stop, descendent nasal canal with a large and black nose. The eyes are oval and dark, and fathom a tender and melancholic gaze. The ears, typical of the breed, are thin, long, and narrow in implantation, folded in ringlets and ended in tips. It has a very dense and short fur, completely spotted in white and black with blue highlights. It has a fine sense of smell and a beautiful voice.

TEMPERAMENT AND ADAPTATION of the BASSET HOUND
The complete absence of shyness is very characteristic. It is an affectionate, lively and cheerful dog, generous to the family and somewhat cowardly. A little stubborn when receiving training, this is no obstacle if it is educated firm and affectionately in adequate doses. Its adaptation to the family life is perfect.
