DREVER

It is a Swedish native dog, very ancient, similar to some basset types, which makes us think that originally there must have been bloodhounds with these characteristics. It is very little known outside its native country. The Swedish Kennel Club acknowledged it officially in 1947; in 1952, the FCI also acknowledged the breed and its first standard was set in that same year.

PHYSICAL TRAITS of the DREVER
It has a square body, a chinless neck, wide chest, short and strong back and slightly saggy hindquarters. The males in this breed are between 32 and 40 cm high to the cross, and the females are between 30 and 38 cm, the average weigh is 15 kg. The head is long and sturdy, with a slight stop, a thick and square muzzle, a large and black nose. It has dark eyes, thin eyelids, and medium sized eats, with rounded tips and attached to the head. The fur is tight, straight and rough and any color is admitted at the base, with very evident white spots.
