FOXHOUND
It is a short legged dog, with an elongated structure, developed muscles and flexible walk. It is lively and calm, it shouldn’t be aggressive or nervous and should never come across as afraid.

It is a serene, calm, lively dog, not aggressive or cowardly at all, it accepts training well as it adapts to a family life.
EXERCISE AND CARE required for a FOXHOUND
It is not necessary for it to exercise much, daily walks are enough. The fur is easy to care for; it is enough to brush it regularly. This British breed was born form the greyhound and some types of terrier which, at the end of the Renaissance, conquered the admiration and favor of the nobility due to its excellent performance in horseback hunting, integrating large packs. In 1884, United States set the first standard in a foxhound, slightly shorter than the British, whose first pack was taken into the new world endorsed by George Washington.
The foxhound has a broad chest, a rounded rib cage, aside from a muscular back, front quarters and spine.
PHYSICAL TRAITS of the FOXHOUND
Measuring 53 to 63 cm and weighing 30 kg this dog is strong, robust and keeps good proportions. Its head is equally proportion with a wide and flat skull, an undefined stop and a square muzzle. The ears, high in implantation, have a medium size, wide lines and fall attached to the face. The round eyes vary in color between hazelnut and brown. This dog’s body is designed for speed and resistance. It has a long but slender neck and light shoulders. Its fur is short, rigid, dense and glossy, tricolor or bicolor in shades of white, black and cinnamon.

It is a decided, affectionate and tenacious dog. Used to running tirelessly, it is not an adequate dog for a domestic life, without enough daily exercise time.
EXERCISE AND CARE required for a FOXHOUND
The foxhound doesn’t need special care, simply frequent brushing, watching a balanced diet and allow it to exercise plenty, especially outdoor running through a field or park, since this is what it most enjoys.
