Majestic tree hound
The majestic tree hound is known to originate from the United States of America. Since the olden days, they were used for the purpose of scenting, hunting, tracking and also for the purpose of treeing game like mountain lion, bear and raccoon. This proves its ability to work for a long time endlessly as well as provide companionship. Today, even though the majestic tree hound has gained popularity in the field of hunting as well as companionship, it still remains very rare outside the United States, that is, its native.
The majestic tree hound, as the name suggests, is quite majestic and strong. The females grow up to a height of 24 to 30 inches and weigh about approximately 75 to 100 pounds, while the males grow up to the height of around 26 to 30 inches and weigh about approximately, 80 to 110 pounds. Dogs with greater height are usually preferred as long as their quality and character is also up to the mark. Their head, compared to their length, is quite narrow and in comparison with their body, their head is quite long. Their head is tapering but only slightly, starting at the temple and ending at the nose. Their foreface is deep, long and is of proportional width. If seen in profile, they have a square profile. Their eyes are in correspondence with the overall colour of the dog and are sunken.
They have soft ears which are very thin and extremely long. They are low set tend to fall into graceful folds, with the lower part of the ear that curl inwards and backwards. They have open and large nostrils. Their lips fall squarely and are in right angle with their foreface. They have a long neck, muscular shoulders and well sprung ribs. They have straight forelegs whose bones are quite large and their elbows are squarely set. Their feet are strong wand knuckled up. They have a short coat which is rather dense and thick, mainly meant to withstand any kind of rough conditions. They do not have any specific colour as such, as their quality is preferred over colour.
These dogs are popularly known for their outgoing and friendly nature. These dogs are a genuinely happy bunch. These dogs require a strong and quite dependable relationship with their owners. They tend to look at their owners when they need any sort of assurance and guidance. They tend to create quite a lot of difficulty when it comes to their training, as they even though are bright, sometimes tending to get stubborn, overly confidant and independent.
These dogs are said to make great pets due to their loyal, affectionate and loving nature. These dogs enjoy the great outdoors and hence are not suitable for an apartment or full time indoor living environment. They enjoy playing around, going for long walks and being outdoors in general. They are known to get bored and annoyed when are given the same repetitive tasks. They have a life expectancy of 15 years.
