These dogs are among one of the rarest dogs in the entire world. These dogs form a part of the spitz family type of dogs. These dogs have originated from Vaerog and Rost, which are in the northern part of Norway. These dogs for centuries were used for the purpose of hunting puffins mainly from their nests on very steep cliffs. However, this hunting of puffins stopped towards the end of 1800s, this is because they soon became extinct and they became a protected species. They love and enjoy playing for long hours. They are very curious dogs and love to explore the world. They have a very high rate of intelligence. They make excellent hunters because of their unique characters. Because of the extra joints in their neck, they have the tendency to turn their head in 180 degree angle.
