Saarloos wolf hound


The Saarloos wolf hound is a breed of dog that was first seen in the Netherlands in Germany. This dog is from the hound family. These dogs bare a very strong resemblance to actual wolfs. They have a furry coat that I resistant to all kinds of weather. These dogs are a hybrid of the wolf dog. These dogs are quite large in size. They are taller than they are long. These dogs are very intelligent. They are however recommended as pets only to experienced dog owners. These dogs are afraid of isolation. They will turn hostile if they are left for long hours in an enclosed space. They will thus not do well in apartment life. This breed prefers the cold but will be able to adapt to moderately warm weather. This dog is very pack-oriented. They will require at least one other dog of the same breed to be happy.

The Saarloos wolf hound is a very powerful dog. These dogs have a muscular and well defined body. Their limbs are long and well defined. The body is quite broad and also very well defined. These dogs have a muscular and broad neck. Their heads are not very large. The head has a slight arch in between the ears. The ears of the dog are triangular and usually pricked up. These dogs have a nice tapering muzzle with a well defined stop. The nose of the dog is usually seen in dark color. The feet of this dog is turned slightly outwards. These dogs have a rather low lying tail. There is intense feathering that is noticed on the tail. The tail is very dense and furry. These dogs have double layered coat. The undercoat is dense while the outer coat is not very long but harsh in texture.

The Saarloos wolf hound is a very independent dog. These dogs are fond of the great outdoors. They do not do well in closed spaces. This dog is only suited for an owner that is used to old canine ways. This dog is quite shy around strangers and can be aloof even with their master. These dogs will require some kind of canine company to remain happy. They are not very comfortable around lots of humans. This dog is very loyal and protective. These dogs are territorial and will lash out at anyone that they consider to be a threat. This dog is a good watch dog. They can be very aggressive. They are quite good with children but will need to be socialized early on. This dog stands at about 60-75 cms tall. These dogs weigh in at about 36-41 kgs. This dog has a life span of about 10-12 years. These dogs are very sturdy and do not suffer from many health problems. These dogs can be very temperamental and will thus need a very patient and experienced owner. These dogs do not require much grooming. This breed will require lots of regular exercise.
