These dogs are also known as the Karafuto-Ken. These dogs were used as sled dogs. These dogs are said to have been originated from the country of Japan. These dogs are very rare in today’s world and not a lot of information is known about these dogs and their origination. These dogs have a pair of small sized ears. These small sized ears are pointed in nature. These ears are sometimes left falling and the other times are tilted slightly in the forward direction. These dogs are a spitz type of dog. These dogs are said to be related to the Akita inu and the Japanese Spitz as well. These dogs tend to grow up to be a minimum of 55 cm and a maximum of 66 cm in height at their withers and will weigh up to about 30 kg to 40 kg.

These dogs come in a large variety of colors. These colors may include either russet red or black color. They have very fine as well as very thick hair.
