Tyrolean Hound
The dogs of this bred are said to have originated from the country of Austria. Along with the name of the Tyrolean hound, they also go by other names such as the tiroler bracke and also as the Austrian brachet. It is very commonly said that the dogs of this breed are the descendants of the Celtic breed of dogs. It is also said that in his times, emperor Maximilian 1 used to use the dogs belonging to this breed, that is, the dogs of the Tyrolean hound dogs. This dog was officially recognized as a breed in the year of 1908 and it was in this year of 1908 that proper breed standards were set for this dogs belonging to this breed. They have the presence of a head that is very broad sized in nature. This broad sized head of the dog was also quite wide in nature.
The dogs of this breed have the presence of a skull that is slightly domed in nature. This slightly domed skull of the dog comes to a rather definite stop. The dogs of this breed also have the presence of a rather narrow sized muzzle. This narrow muzzle is also very straight in nature. The pair of lips that this dog has is rather short in size. The broad and the wide natured head of the dog have in it the presence of a pair of ears. This pair of ears is set rather high up on the slightly domes skull of the dog. These ears also have the presence of rounded tips. These high set and round tipped ears are also quite wide in nature.
The body of the dogs of this breed is such that the length of the body of the dog is slightly larger when compared to the height of the body of the dog. The dogs of this breed have a neck that is rather well knit in nature. This neck is also with out the presence of a dewlap. The body of the dog has the presence of withers that are very well pronounced in nature. The chest of the dogs of this breed like the head of the dog id also slightly domed in nature. Along with being well domed in nature, the chest of the dog is quite wide and also rather let down in nature. The chest of the dog is also rather tucked up in nature.
The dogs belonging o this breed have a very straight back. They have the presence of a rather long tail. This long tail of the dog is set quite high up on the rear end of the body of the dog. When the dogs are in action, the long tails are generally carried up in a straight position. A dog having the presence of a brushed tail which is also very well feathered is highly valued and preferred. The coat of the dog is rather thick in nature and it is also lying very close to the dog. In height, the dog has the tendency of growing up to a minimum of 44 cm to a maximum of 50 cm at their withers.
