Welsh Springer Spaniel


This dog as the name suggests, belongs to the family Spaniel. The dogs of this breed are quite compact dogs. They have a very solid built. These dogs are bred mainly for the purpose of their hard working nature and also because of their endurance. The hindquarters of the dog are very well developed in nature. The dogs of this breed have the presence of a pair of medium sized eyes. The eye color may be brown in color or yellow, however the dogs with yellow colored eye are not usually accepted. The dogs of this breed have a symmetrical body. They are not too leggy in nature. The dogs are said to be very quick and also equally active in nature. These dogs have a lot of strength.

These dogs are not meant to show a lot of aggression. The skulls of the dogs of this breed is such that its size is in perfect proportion when compared to the size of the body of the dog. The head of the dogs of this reed is also slightly domed in nature along with being perfectly proportionate. The skull comes to a very well defined as well as a well defined stop. The skull of the dogs of this breed is said to be well chiseled in the areas that falls in between the ears of the dog. The muzzles of the dogs of this breed are of a medium length. This medium muzzle is quite straight and is rather square in nature. The noses of the dogs have the presence of a pair of nostrils that are very well developed in nature.

The pair of eyes of the dogs belonging to that is not sunken in nature and neither is they prominent or haw in nature. The ears of these dogs are set quite low on the heads of the dog. These low set ears are kept hanging down low and very close to the cheeks of the dog. The size of these ears are small as compared to the size of the rest of the head and also when compared to the size of the rest of the body of the dog. These ears are such that they are quite thick at the base and starts to taper as it moves towards the tip of the ears.

These dogs have the presence of a very strong set of jaw bones. Their teeth generally tend to meet to form a scissor bite. The set of upper teeth of the dog are such that is slightly over laps the set of lower teeth of the dog. The necks of these dogs are quite long and also rather muscular in nature. The body of this dog should be such that its length is proportional when compared to the length of the legs of the dog. They have the presence of a very muscular hind quarter. The dogs of this breed have round shaped feet. They are quite firm and also having a cat like appearance.
