WIREHAIRED POINTING GRIFFON


This griffon’s real origin is German, although the International Canine Federation awarded it to France, since it was the country with the largest diffusion and where the breeding is most extended. While the Germans devoted to breeding older breeds, French breeders carefully developed this breed, already considered national. It descends from different European pointer breeds and is much appreciated in almost every country due to its natural hunting instinct as well as for its beautiful looks and good temperament.

Its thorax is deep and fairly wide, the back is strong and the spine is compact.

PHYSICAL TRAITS of the WIREHAIRED POINTING GRIFFON
The male’s height is from 55 to 60 cm and the females is form 50 to 55 c,. It is a dog with great resistance and energy. The head is large and long, the stop is light, the nose canal is slightly bulky, the nose is brown and the muzzle is square. The eyes are chestnut or yellow, with no fringes, and the ears are middle sized with a smooth structure. The fur is hard, semi long, tight and with a dense and finer undercoat. The coat color can be gray, with chestnut spots, white with brown, or white with orange.

TEMPERAMENT AND ADAPTATION of the WIREHAIRED POINTING GRIFFON
Its temperament is energic and somewhat noisy; it needs firm and constant training, but it is a dog that adapts well to the family life, preferably id it is not in a flat; on the other hand, this dog doesn’t like to be alone at all. It becomes intimately attached to the most direct master and it is kind, affectionate and tolerant to everybody around its daily life.

EXERCISE AND CARE required for a WIREHAIRED POINTING GRIFFON
The griffon’s fir needs frequent brushing with hard bristle brushed, alternating them with the use of a horsehair glove. This dog should run freely, as often as possible.
